Penang Transport Council

 The PTC is a body constituted by the Penang State Executive Council for the purpose of improving transportation in the state of Penang. The PTC is an advisory council and consists of representatives from state and local governments, experts in transport planning and management from professional organizations and institutes of higher learning, and members of the public representing civil society. The council shall offer advice, comments and suggestions to the proper authorities on all issues of transportation in the state of Penang.  Members do not receive any remuneration for participation in the council.

 Members of the council were officially appointed for a period of two years in July10, 2011 by the Chief Minister of Penang, YAB Tuan Lim Guan Eng. The council has formed task forces to study various transport issue and make policy recommendations,
